Agnes Stewart was born in Lettermore, Galway, [Donegal?], Ireland, 1876 to Coleman Stewart and his wife Mary O’Toole.  In 1885 she immigrated to the United States (age12) and she married William E. Lyons in 1895 (age abt 20).  She was living in Virginia, St. Louis, Minnesota according to the 1910 census record.  [This information comes from a family ancestral file of W. Lyons].  She married Henry A. Carstensen in 1915 who on the 1920 U.S. census indicates that he is married to Agnes, but prior to the marriage he was a widower.  From approximately 1915 to 1940, the U.S. census gives their residence as Election District #3, Washakie, Wyoming.  The couple had no issue.  By the time they lived in Ten Sleep proper, they were elderly and not involved in public issues or community services.

Memories:  I recall (I hope rightfully) that the pair move in from the Lower Nowood area and bought a small log house that had been close to the school lots for some time.  Mrs. Carstensen survived her husband Henry A. by 5 years and had grown somewhat unstable – both physically and mentally by the time of her passing.  Fb
