After high school when the Vietnam War was in full swing, he joined the U.S. Army, Wyo, SP4.  Following his military service, he worked for the U.S. Soil Conservation in Worland, WY.  On July 3, 1971, he was riding a motor cycle (as a passenger) in the Big Horn mountains and met with an accident in the vicinity of Meadowlark Lake above Ten Sleep and was killed.

Memories:  Jerry Chalfant was an amazing  young man participating in all school activities, loyal to his friends, eager to do the ‘right’ thing and was missed greatly by one friend in particular, Bob Wood (presently of North Salt Lake).  fb
