Walter Leonard Cheeney
Researched and Compiled by Faye Bell (SLC) 2014
Walter Leonard Cheeney was born July 1, 1931 in southeast Wyoming to Walter Oney Cheeney (Slim) and Marie Van Zee Cheeney. The family had three other children already: Dorothy, Edward Homer and Marguerite. They moved to Ten Sleep and settled on the Nowood ranching area in 1935. Walter Leonard attended Ten Sleep schools until he passed away on June14, 1939. He was survived by all of his siblings and his parents.
Memories: I remember a tall, slim boy who they said was a Cheeney in the school system. He wore corduroy slacks and light colored knit shirts. What I recall is that he was very quiet and moved quickly in order as he was told as we moved from class to class or from inside to outdoor activities. Light haired and green or gray eyes. fb
