Jane Rowton was born in Missouri in September 1875.  She married A B Compton, 9 Nov 1898 in Missouri (Missouri Marr. Records 1805-2002).  She is shown as Miss Jane Rowton indicating she had not been married before.  The couple lived in Morgan, Missouri.  By 1900 the couple were living in Morgan, Missouri and had a 3-month old child named Ephran L (I believe this is in error and should be changed to Frank).  In 1910 they were in Glen Grove, Douglas Co., Colorado with Frank, Irvin, Yuel and Everett.  The 1910 census shows  hat they are farming in Colorado.  They moved from Colorado to Casper, Natrona, Wyoming by 1920 and they have four more children:  Lillie, Clarence, Margaret and Eunice Compton.  They were in Casper in 1930 but in 1940 they were situated in Washakie County, WY; he is still listed as a farmer and owns his home.  She lost her husband Bert Compton in 1954 and lived until 1959.  The couple had spent nearly 60 years together and reared 8 children—5 sons and 3 daughters.

Memories:  I might have seen Jane Compton while they lived in Washakie Co., but it is unclear to me if that is the case.  Fb
