Thelma Hawks Marple

            Thelma B Hawks was born to John S Hawks and Adie M (the daughter of Mary Putton) in 1908 in Nye, Stillwater, Montana as shown in the 1910 U.S. census.  She had two brothers George and John and a sister Zula[Zella?].  In 1930, Thelma was shown as the wife of William T Garoutte and the couple were living in Nye, Stillwater, Montana.  By 1935, Thelma was living in Ten Sleep, Washakie, Wyoming with her father John (Jack) Hawks and in 1940 U.S. census it shows her still living with her father but also married to Sela T Davis from Gillette, WYSela (Sy) was also living with his father-in-law in Ten Sleep.  Her brother John Hawks was also a resident of Ten Sleep in the ‘20’s.  Jack Hawks had a bar and poolroom on the site later shown as a café (LaRose proprietor) and later (Beydler) thence they owned and operated the Ten Sleep Bar which Thelma was nearly always responsible for.  In the 1960’s Thelma and Sie [Sela T] Davis were divorced, and later she married George Marple, a rancher from Upper Nowood whose wife had passed away.  Thelma Hawks Garoutte Davis Marple had no children.  She passed away in 1977.
