   Grace M. Mills, 89, died September 26 at the Washakie Memorial Hospital.

   She was born February 24, 1892 in Crawford, Nebraska, to Foster and Margurite Dove Speas.  She moved to Wyoming when she was 11 years old and settled in the Ten Sleep area in 1904.  On October 27, 1909, she married Harry C. Mills in Mahogany Butte Canyon.  She and her husband ranched in the area until retiring.  She was a member of the Ten Sleep Methodist church and Ladies Aid and a charter member on the Ten Sleep Order of the Eastern Star.  She was also a member of the Rebeckah Lodge and served on the Ten Sleep Cemetery Board for many years.

   At the age of 75, she was made an honorary Brigadier General in the Louisiana Army by the governor of Louisiana for being his guide during a hunting trip to Wyoming.  She continued to guide hunters until about five years ago.

  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960.

   She is survived by one son, Foster L. Mills, of Ten Sleep and three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Hester) Dowler of Casper, Mrs. Norman ( Ethel) Helgeson of Las Vegas, Nevada, and her twin sister Mrs. Jake (Alice) Schneider of Worland, and 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

   Other survivors include four sisters, Rhoda Smith of Worland, Elsie Mitchell of Janesville, California, Helen Silva of San Lorenzo, California.

   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, at the Ten Sleep Methodist church with the Rev. Loy Estes officiating.  Burial will be in the Ten Sleep Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Ten Sleep ambulance in care of Florence Shriver or Jerry Walters. Veile Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
