Claris M. (Toots) Michael passed away March 28, 1989 at Washakie Memorial Hospital.   She was born March 17th, 1917 in OĠNeil Nebraska to Jerry and Helen (Stewart) Bean.  The family moved to Worland when she was a small child.

Toots married John Michael in Billings MT in 1936. Following their marriage they lived in Worland until 1953 when they purchased Deer Haven Lodge out of Ten Sleep. They operated the lodge until 1968. After selling the lodge they relocated in the Town of Ten Sleep.  Toots cooked at the Flagstaff cafŽ for several years.  She was an avid fisherman, camper, and loved dancing and playing pinochle.

She had three children Sharon, Donnie, Jerry Lee and  5 grand children. She had siblings Florence, Thelma, Orville and Elmer.  John preceded her in death in 1986.

Her memorial services were held at the United Methodist Church in Ten Sleep. Her ashes are scattered on her beloved Big Horn Mountains.
