Myrna Joyce Pannell

1936 – 2014

Myrna Joyce Pannell, 78, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper in the presence of her children and some of her grandchildren.
Myrna was born March 29, 1936 in Worland to Merton and Pearl Bader. She was raised in Ten Sleep where she graduated from Ten Sleep High School. She attended the University of Wyoming and graduated with a medical technologist degree. The first couple of years after college, Myrna lived in Cheyenne before moving to Casper. In Casper, she met and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Marian Pannell. They married on Oct. 27, 1963 and just over a year later their first child, Craig Allen, was born. Her second child, Starla Kaye, greeted the world a year later. Myrna and Bill made Casper their home and raised their family there. Myrna lived in Casper after the passing of her husband until she moved back to Ten Sleep to care for her mother and father. Ten Sleep was her home until she passed away.
Myrna worked as a medical technologist for 35 years and retired from the Natrona County Memorial Hospital (now Wyoming Medical Center). She was active in the Boy Scouts of America where she was den leader and a board member of the River Bend District. For the majority of her professional life and into retirement, Myrna was an active member of the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Scientists (ASCLS) and the Intermountain States Seminars (IMSS).
After a life time of serving her family and friends, Myrna will be remembered as the good and faithful servant. Loving and serving were at the core of who she was. It was what made her happy. It was who she was created to be. She would serve until the end at the Ten Sleep Senior Center and Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Bader; her father, Merton Bader; her husband, William (Bill) Pannell; and her son-in-law, Wade Atkinson.
