HYATTVILLE --- Amandus Leon Rea, 99 of Hyattville, died Saturday, Jan. 23, in the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin. He was born March 12, 1893, in Colesburg, Iowa, a son of George T. and Osee (Daniels) Rea. He received his education in Iowa. He moved to the Hyattville-Ten Sleep area in 1915. On Oct. 10, 1925, he married Esther Elizabeth Ziesman in Worland. He was a rancher in the area until 1980 when he moved to the Pioneer Home in Thermopolis. In 1986, he moved to the retirement center in Basin. Mr. Rea enjoyed his livestock and growing beans. Survivors include one son, Bob of Hyattville; two daughters, Emma Graham of Thermopolis and Helen Lehan of Hyattville; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 19, 1980; two brothers and two sisters. Visitation is set for noon at 5 p.m. today in the Atwood Family Funeral Home in Basin. The service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hyattville United Methodist Church in Basin, with Rev. Philip J. Mills officiating. Burial will be in Ten Sleep Cemetery. Atwood Family is in charge of arrangements.
