     TEN SLEEP --- Marie Jennette Redland Dupree, 76, died Wednesday Aug. 5, 1998 at Washakie Memorial Hospital in Worland of ovarian cancer.

     She was born Aug. 8, 1921 at Spring Creek on the Upper Nowood, the daughter of Richard and Nellie (Harvard) Redland.  She was raised and schooled at Ten Sleep.  She then worked for 20 years as a registered nurse in Worland and Thermopolis.  After her nursing career, she farmed a place between Basin and Greybull for 20 years.  She was a lifelong rockhound and also was a sports enthusiast.  Her hobbies included flower gardening.  She will be remembered by her family and friends for her optimistic, strong-willed character that epitomized the pioneer spirit.

     She is survived by one son, Eric Dupree of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Jean Dupree Edwards of Bowie, Md.; three brothers, Richard "Dick" Redland of Uvalde, Texas, Robert "Bob" Redland of Manderson, and Spencer "Ole" Redland of Hysham, Mont.; three sisters, Dorsey Redland of San Francisco, Calif., Jo Redland of Smith River, Calif., and Virginia Redland of Brookings, Ore.; and six grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Nancy Dupree; and one brother, Eric Redland.

     Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday,  Aug. 10 at the Ten Sleep Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen R. Ferriss of Ten Sleep officiating.  Her ashes will be buried in the Ten Sleep Cemetery.
