Charlie Riddle was born 14 Jan 1896 in Nebraska as per the 1910 Federal Census to Robert M and Martha Riddle.  When Charlie was 4 years old the Riddles moved to Lead City, Lawrence, S Dak (1900 U.S. census) and in 1910 they were in Stillwater, Carbon Co. MT.  By 1917, he informed the WWI draft board that he lived in Absaroke, MT and worked for Louis V Dell on the Dell Ranch and considered himself a farm laborer.  The draft registration describes him as short, medium build, blue eyes and dark brown hair.    The Riddle family then consisted of Fletcher, Robert, May P[Pearl], Josie A, Fred G and Sherman F Riddle.  On April 26, 1926 Charlie Riddle married Pearl A Simpson, daughter of Bert and Bessie Simpson of Ten Sleep.  The couple was married in Worland, WY and there quickly followed three children:  Nina Fae, Mabry Merton and Melvin Riddle.  Charlie Riddle passed away on the 24th of December in 1929 and his third child and second son Melvin was born shortly after Charlie’s passing.  His death preceded his mother Martha Riddle and his brother Robert L Riddle, also of Ten Sleep.
