Francis Marion Sheldon

1870 - 1958.

 

     TEN SLEEP --- Funeral services were conducted at the Ten Sleep Methodist church May 9 for Francis Marion Sheldon who died in the hospital at Salina, Calif., on the eve of his 88th birthday anniversary, May 2.  Rev. Oyer C. Morgan had charge of the funeral services.  A quartette composed of Mrs. Roy Shriver, Mrs. George Ferguson, Mrs. Nick Shaver and Mrs. Robert Everett sang "We Shall Gather By the River" and "Face to Face."  They were accompanied by Mrs. Frank Davis.

 

 Sheldon came to Wyoming in 1886 and made his home in the Ten Sleep area.  He and his family moved to Washington in 1924 were he did carpenter work and later worked for the soil conservation in Watsonville, Calif., retiring 10 years ago.  He is survived by three sons, Dal, Vern and Guy, 24 grandchildren and seven great-gramdchildren.
