     Syvilla Sweeney, a longtime Ten Sleep resident, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999 at Washakie Memorial Hospital in Worland, Wyoming.

     She was born in Worland on November 6, 1925, the daughter of Charles and Jennie (Rice) Wyman.  They moved to Ten Sleep when she was a young girl and she received her education in Ten Sleep, graduation from Ten Sleep High School in 1943.

     She was married to Robert H. Sweeney, Sr. on July 29, 1946 and they made their home in Ten Sleep, where they raised their children.  She loved to garden, sew and crochet.

     Mr. Sweeney died in 1977 and she then went towork as a bookkeeper for her sister at the service station in Ten Sleep, then worked for the Credit Bureau in Worland, and then for the Conoco Bulk Plant until retiring in 1986.  She received her 40-year pin for the Signal Cliff Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.  In her retirement years she loved working in her flower garden and birdwatching.

     She is survived by one son, Robert Sweeney, Jr. of Demmerer, Wyoming; one daughter, Jeanette Breeden of Ten Sleep; three brothers, Carles Wyman of California, and Everett and Marvin Wyman of Ten Sleep; one sister, Charlotte Bennett of Gillette, Wyoming; and grandchildren Lara Sweeney of Green River, Wyoming and Shane Sweeney of Rock Springs, Wyoming.

     Private family memorial services were held Monday, April 10.
