Obituary of LeRoy Vandevender.

Mr. Leroy Vandevender died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. A. Alexander, of Big Trails, on Feb. 17th, at the advanced age of 70 years, having reached that age on the 4th day of that same month. Mr. Vandevender was born at Peru, Ind., and removed to Wyoming after the death of his wife at Kansas City several years ago. He was a member of the Methodist church, having united with that church about fifteen years ago.

   He leaves six children, three sons and three daughters to mourn his death; two of these, Mrs. M. A. Alexander of Big Trails, and C. L. Vandevender of this city, are the only ones residing in this state.

Leroy Vandevender was born at Peru, Indiana, on Feb. 7. 1838. He spent the early portion of his life on farm near Clarinda, Iowa, where he was married. Later he moved to Nebraska, where he resided until he came to the Big Horn Basin, some seven years ago. He made his home with his daughter and her husband. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Alexander, until his death. Mr. Vandevender, was a member of the Baptist church for many years and always lived true, Christian life. He died on Feb. 17 at the age of 70 years.

  Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Toland, of Hyattville, interment being made in the Tensleep cemetery.
