Mary L. Vanarsdall, Obituary, Northern Wyoming Daily News, Worland, Wyoming, 13 July 2010, page 2.

WORLAND --- Mary Lorraine Vanarsdall, 77, of Worland and formerly of Ten Sleep, died  on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on May 1, 1933 in Walden, Colo., a daughter of Jesse and Carrie Fey (Carr) Vanarsdall.  She lived with her family and helped them in their timber harvesting business while she was growing up.  She left formal schooling when she reached the eighth grade.

Mary was a gift: she never met a stranger and could always manage to make people laugh.  She never liked living in the present day and was more suited to living a more pioneer-like life.

She loved the mountains, cutting firewood, fishing and she also made beautiful quilts.  She had a real "green thumb" and could make just about anything grow.  Her first love was her dog Tonk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Mary is survived by her children Vern (Kay) Bennett of Wright, Wyo. and Sherry (Fritz) Bennett of Greeley, Colo.; by her brother Vernon Vanarsdall of Ten Sleep and her sisters Dorothy Dockery of Worland and Wilma Pyle of Evans, Colo.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Flint and Bo Bennett of Wright and John, Kyle, Matthew and Amanda of Colorado; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at the Veile Mortuary Chapel in Worland.  Cremation will follow the service and the ashes will be scattered on the mountains at a later date.
