Reynold G. Ziesman 98 of Lewistown passed away Wednesday evening, March 7, at Valle Vista Manor with his wife by his side of natural causes.  He was born March 5, 1914 in Hyattville, Wyoming the son of Reynold Herman & Martha (Kosanke) Ziesman.  He received his education in Wyoming living on the ranch where they raised cattle, sheep, hogs and horses.  His mother died when he was 12 years old which left him and his sister Martha to help with the ranch work.   Reynold had a pony and cart that he and his sister drove them to school in Hyattville.  They learned at an early age about hard work and responsibility.  After the older siblings had married and moved away, Martha went to High School in Worland and made friends with Beulah Bain.  Beulah had a younger sister, Dorothy and she became acquainted with Reynold through their sisters and were married on Easter Sunday, April 5th 1942.  They lived on the ranch for the first 4 years of their married life in a nice little house but lived part time in a sheep wagon to be where the sheep were.  They worked side by side with the ranch work until Reynolds’ father decided to sell the ranch and move to California.  Reynold was offered a job in the oil fields of Montana and moved to Eastern Montana.  That job lasted 45 years, saving their money to build a retirement home.  He also worked at a jet fuel refinery that was built during this time.

He built a water distiller which was very successful and was interested in wind power.  As a hobby he learned to cut stones and make beautiful jewelry.  They went to the Yellowstone River on their days off searching for agates.  Reynold enjoyed making friends with the chipmunks and they would follow him all over.

They finally decided to retire and in 1984 they build their retirement home in Lewistown where they lived until his recent illness and he moved to Valle Vista Manor and Dorothy to the Villa to be near him.

He was a member of the Senior Citizens Club in Lewistown.

He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years Dorothy of Lewistown; sister Martha Mercer of Hyattville, WY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and two brothers.
