Oscar Lee Fey, Jr.

Longtime Worland resident Oscar Lee Fey, Jr., 69, died on Sunday evening, June 1, 2014 at Washakie Medical Center in Worland. Oscar was born on Dec. 9, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas, a son of Oscar Lee Fey, Sr. and Evelyn (Ditterline) Fey. He grew up and attended schools in Freer, Texas. At a young age he went to work in the oilfields on drilling rigs, working in Texas and California. He joined the U. S. Army and served for a year in California before being honorably discharged. Oscar returned to south Texas and went back to work in the oilfields. In 1980 he moved to Worland where he met Dorothy Vanarsdall and they became life companions. While living in Worland, Oscar continued to work on drilling rigs and on work- over rigs. He liked to fish, including ice fishing in the winter, go sightseeing and traveling, and work on small engines of all kinds: boat motors, lawn mowers, chainsaws, etc. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his companion of 34 years, Dorothy Dockery of Worland; his brother, George Fey, Sr. of Freer; his step-brother, Willis Ditterline of Riverton; step-daughters, Beverly (Tom) DeSomber of Ten Sleep, JoAnn Bockman and Sally (Steve) Craft both of Worland and Carla (Billy) Norris of Wynona Mo.; his nephews, George Fey, Jr. and Arnold Lee Fey both of Freer; his adopted grandsons, Wyatt Bodray of Cheyenne and Randy Bodray of Worland. Cremation will take place and the ashes will be buried during a graveside memorial service at the Ten Sleep Cemetery on Sunday, June 8 at 1 p.m. Veile Mortuary of Worland is assisting the family with the arrangements.
