WORLAND --- Thelma V. Waln, 84, died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at the
Thelma was born Dec. 6, 1918 in Bonanza, the daughter of Clarence Alvin and Florence Pearl (Brown) Waln.
Thelma was raised in Ten Sleep and Big Trails. She graduated from Ten Sleep High School, and then attended
Thelma started her nursing career working in Worland, Powell, and
Thelma never married, and she moved back to Worland in 1987 to be near her family. She lived in the Apple Apartments until 200 when she moved to the Pioneer Home in Thermopolis.
Thelma was a devoted member of the
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Marvin Waln, who was killed during World War II.
She is survived by her brother, Theron Waln of Powell; her sister Pauline (Archie) Harvard of Worland; one niece, four nephews, and many cousins in the area.
Cremation will take place, and a graveside memorial service will be held on Sept. 22, 2 p.m. at the Ten Sleep Cemetery. Reverend Gordon Henderson of
Veile Mortuary of Worland is in charge of the arrangements.
