     TEN SLEEP --- Vivian L. Whaley, a longtime Big Horn Basin resident died Thursday at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell.  She was 81.
     Mrs. Whaley was born on Jan. 27, 1906 near Manderson, a daughter of Fred Lewis and Ethel M. (Daugherty) Bader.  On Nov. 4, 1927, she married F. J. "Jack" Whaley.
     Raised in the Ten Sleep area, she attended high school in Basin.  Following her marriage, she resided in Ten Sleep until moving to Worland in 1968.  She moved to Conrad, Mont. in 1979 and transferred to the North Big Horn Nursing Home in Lovell in 1985.  She was a member of the Methodist Church in Ten Sleep.
     She was preceded in death by her husband in December 1971; by a son, Fred Whaley; and by a daughter, Lois Ann Simpson.
     Survivors include two  sons, Philip Whaley of Nairobi, Kenya, Africa and Keith Whaley of Sheridan; and three daughters, Mrs. Chester (Jacquelyn) Phillips of Jackson, Margaret Ludtke of Sarasota, Fla. and Nancy Osborne of Casper.  She also is survived by three brothers, Fred L. Bader of Worland, Berl Bader of Hyattville and Paris Bader of Ten Sleep; by a sister, Mrs. Delbert (Maurice) Hollcroft, of Buffalo; and 25 grandchildren; and by 31 great-grandchildren.
     The casket will be open for viewing at Veile Mortuary in Worland from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
     The funeral service will be at 11a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Ten Sleep with the Rev. James Heikes and Mike Shank officiating.  Burial will be at the Ten Sleep Cemetery.
